CHINATOWN LONDON REBRANDING

Chinatown’s rebranding reflects the evolution of culture, industries, and consumer habits since 2019. With an influx of young visitors, we modernized the brand while honoring its identity as the UK’s premier Chinese/Asian cultural hub. This update blends authentic Chinese colors with vibrant, contemporary tones to resonate with diverse audiences. By embracing authenticity, innovation, and inclusivity, we’ve redefined Chinatown as a dynamic, cross-cultural destination. The refreshed brand guidelines expand creative possibilities while maintaining a cohesive and celebratory brand proposition.

We had the privilege of leading the Chinatown 2023 Summer campaign, a project that beautifully bridged tradition and modernity. Traveling to Hangzhou, I explored a traditional Chinese paper umbrella institution to bring this exquisite craftsmanship to London.
The campaign featured a stunning TVC, a collaboration with Chinese watercolor artist Vikki Zhang for intricate illustrations, and a 2D hybrid animation video.

To make an even greater impact, we installed these traditional umbrellas in the skies of Chinatown London, creating a breathtaking visual centerpiece. This installation left a lasting impression on visitors, elevating the charm of Chinatown’s summer celebration.
